Never heard of Right angle triangles being called right triangles until googling this just now,so it's either a term that was coined after I left school, or an Americanism.

Excellent red herrings! Loved it when I found the fish parts. And I'm Canadian so we're halfway in between American and British in our language usage hehe and we definitely can say "right triangle" here!
