Excellent grid, "red herrings" galore 😉
10s all round
Thanks for posting

I put it harder than it is as the two groups I was left with needed luck to get in the three last goes. I should have sorted earlier.
(You'll know which two when you've done it)

I don't see any of the crossovers others mention. All 4 groups were obvious and distinct. 30s job. Not a criticism, was quite a nice grid, just easy (for me, but apparently not for some others).

I don't think there is a unique solution here. Maybe why people are seeing so many red herrings. Tyne can swap with Humber, Thames and Shannon and still provide a valid wall. I have no idea what Ace has been drinking.

Also, strictly speaking, the Wight group aren't all what you describe them as.

The problem is that 'Tyne' is also a river (and all of your rivers are also shipping forecast areas), so it can be swapped out with any of them to make an equally correct grid. So it's not a unique solution, sadly. But other than that, it's a great grid!

I confess that I hadn't noticed that the definition of one group was just 'rivers'. I'd typed 'estuaries', which was accepted and makes the whole thing unique.
