My image grid method (in response to William F’s query)

1) Subscribe as a patron to unlock images (About page, min cost: 1 pint per month)
2) Crop all images to aspect ratio 3:2 landscape for consistent display
3) Register for a free Flickr account and upload images
4) Click to share an image on Flickr and select the BBCode tab
5) There is a URL within this text that includes “live.staticflickr” and ends “.jpg”
6) Carefully paste the full link into the grid submission page
7) Display grid on main page? Absolutely not – test and edit it using the email link first
8) When tried and tested, recreate the grid anew and submit publicly

There are plenty of other file hosting sites but I had issues with several of them and so stuck with the above method after trial and error. I hope that helps, please excuse the comment length. Happy setting and puzzling, folks.

Thanks for setting. Par(r) rather soured it for me.... even though I got it in the end, as you acknowledged its clue does not work quite. I guess i should be grateful for the free entertainment and for you not putting bogey instead

Updated pictures work well Jollycorpse. One of the originals I saw as ‘blocks’ but the other one was just my error. People are loving your creative grids 🙂

@ Mister Tom - Thanks. "Dried nasal mucus" almost made the final cut but I decided against for fear of upsetting the more squeamish among us(!) I have since tweaked the homophone in question to make the distinction more overt for future players.

Good idea, cluedo group poor though - colours also fits (scarlett johanson, yellow, peacock blue, plum). A tin of colmans would have been better on that. Others were very good.
