Ditto clergy. Birds, no. NFL teams, yes. Obscure / unnecessary secondary definitions are always irritating . An alright puzzle diminished by the link terms/definitions for me I'm afraid.

Grid was relatively easy , but didn't matter. There were a couple of red herrings, and it was fun to do.

'Cleric' was 'incorrect'. The sports teams are also all birds.

the "roles in the church" should accept cleric/clergymen. the NFL teams should be "birds which are also NFL mascots" or "NFL mascots which are also birds" (seahawks being the only other one and would likely give a better clue, we usually think one or the other). other than that, great grid!
